Fujifilm Finepix S2500HD Digital Camera

I'm in the market for a good digital camera to take some high-quality photos for a new travel website I'm working on. I want at least 12 megapixels and a quality lens, but I don't want to pay more than $300. That's because I tend to lose and/or damage all my digicams within about 6 months of buying them! One of the best camera deals and best alternatives to a digital SLR I've found is the Fujifilm Finepix S2500HD. I'm gonna go buy it within the next few days. Here's a nice review of this very cool camera...

Fujifilm Finepix S2500HD Camera Review

Recently, I went to the annual IT show held during March 2010 at Suntec City, Singapore and I manage to get myself a Fujifilm Finepix S2500HD camera. This camera is actually from the semi-pro series. Initially, what I really had in mind was a normal stylish camera like the CANON IXUS series which was compact and portable. However, my decision swayed when I saw the huge difference in picture quality while the price was comparable.

Firstly, the 18X zoom was a standout among others in its series at just 15X zoom. One such example at the show was the Nikon L110. At 18X maximum zoom, the image is still crisp and sharp. The Fujinon lenses are really awesome! Furthermore, it is equipped with a 35mm equivalent wide lense which allows you to capture the real depth and scale of a scene.

Next, this camera is also able to capture HD videos and HD still images vividly. It comes with a mini HDMI port which allows you to connect the camera to a HD ready television to preview your videos and images on a large screen. The camera also comes with a 12MP image sensor which further assist in capturing lavish and vivid details.

What I hate most about normal cameras is about blurry pictures. I understand that nowadays many cameras already support image stabilization. I am not in a position to comment about how other cameras' image stabilization fair in contrast to my camera, I can just say I am really pleased with how my Fujifilm Finepix works. I hardly get any blurs with my pictures even with unsteady hands. What's more is that you can also adjust the aperture speed to capture a image faster. The maximum shutter speed for this model is 1/2000s.

Another useful feature that I like is its zoom bracketing feature. It allows you to zoom and crop your pictures on the spot without having to go through the hassle of Photoshop.

Lastly, there are many modes including the scene modes, manual modes, and automatic modes. Whether you are a beginner new to cameras or you are a semi-expert ready to tune your camera, I believe it has a mode suitable for you. It also has the panaromal mode that allows you to capture multiple shots to form a continuous picture if what you are taking does not fit within a single shot.

In conclusion, I hope this article has given you a brief insight about this camera and assist you further in your purchase. Personally, I am EXTREMELY pleased with the camera and hope you will too if you decide to choose this as your camera!

The Best Cheap Android Tablet PC??

The Best Cheap Android Tablet PC?

OK, so now that I'm sold on tablet computers I'm definitely in the market to buy one. The thing is, I don't want to spend a ton of money... and I don't want an Apple iPad (sorry, I just don't like Apple!). So I'm looking for the best "cheap" Android tablet PC. During my research I found the nice video below. If you're looking for a good inexpensive tablet computer you might want to take a look at the brand new My Tab tablet from Optus. Check it out:

Now that's what I'm talking about... a really good tablet for less money! :D

What's the best laptop computer for a college student?

I'm in the process of trying to buy a laptop for my 18-year-old cousin who's about to start college the first week of January 2011. There are so many different types of notebook computers out there it's incredible. Fortunately I have a friend who has bought laptops for both high school and college students. She really knows how to find the best deals on the best "student" laptops. While talking recently we realized that there must be thousands of people in the same situation. Not everyone is a computer geek who knows which laptop features are important for a young adult trying to get the best grades possible. So basically we decided to partner together to create a blog that will hopefully help other parents who are in this situation.

You can check out the new blog at this address:

Please check it out and also please leave your own notebook computer buying tips as well as any reviews, comments, or questions you may have about finding the right laptop for students. Thanks!

Kodak PlaySport HD

I love taking HD videos but I don't yet have a "mini" digital video camera that I can get wet. I have one of the original Flip cams but I'm in the market for a new, more durable digicam. So far I think the Kodak PlaySport HD looks like the best option. It can go as far as 10 feet underwater and record in full 1080p high definition video. Seems like the perfect option for hikers and water sport junkies like myself. Here's a nice review of the PlaySport:

Kodak PlaySport Review - Form and Function Perfectly Combined

Whether you admit it or not, everyone is naturally attracted to a great-looking piece of electronics gear. The Kodak PlaySport (also called the Zx3) certainly qualifies on that score. But there's so much more here than just an attractive case. There's great function, too.

Function starts with being able to hold your pocket camcorder without slippage or fumbling for the buttons. Thanks to the roughened plastic back, the PlaySport lets you do that no matter what size hands you have.

That feature is especially important in this case because the PlaySport is designed to be used not just on dry land. Take it to the beach or in the pool and you still have a unit that's easy to hold. It can work under the ocean waves down to 10 feet for half an hour, too, so shooting while snorkeling is a definite possibility.

You'll find on the case a switch to set "H2O" mode, but you don't have to worry if you forget to set it. The case is always waterproof. It helps compensate for the way light works under water. The mode adjusts the color to give you natural-looking video in that bluer environment.

In the water or out, though, the roughened surface and mode switch aren't the only things that help you shoot great video at all times.

The Zx3 offers several resolution options: 720p or Full HD (1080p) at 30fps, along with 60fps in 720p mode. There's also a WVGA setting for those determined to squeeze the maximum space. But when you can swap out a 32 Gb SD/SDHC card, it's hard to see why anyone would use it.

Image stabilization helps take the 'jitters' out of your video, even if you have them. It's not perfect and it has limits; it's not quite as robust as the sort found on full-sized camcorders. It's electronic, not optical, which means that software compensates for fuzzy images after the fact, rather than a mechano-optical device during recording. But it does a good job.

An easy-to-operate D-pad on the back puts all the most commonly used features literally at your fingertips. Like the similar control on some game pads, you just give it a nudge in the desired direction to zoom, fast forward, rewind, or adjust the volume. There's also a Record button in the center that lets you start or stop with a tap. It can also be used to take stills in digital camera mode. A Liveview button lets you preview video real time, too.

The integrated LCD screen is not the largest in the market, but at two inches it's plenty usable. Going beyond usable, Kodak coated it with their proprietary Glare Shield to let you monitor the scene with maximum clarity in maximum lighting conditions.

Since you'll be taking your Kodak PlaySport to the beach, the park, and other places where full sun and reflected light are often present, that's more than a nice to have. It's a must. In the most extreme conditions it can even flip automatically to a black and white view.

Washed out colors make a display hard to see, but the eye adjusts to B & W readily. Think of one of those crystal-clear old movies with high contrast - dark shadows, bright highlights, and a smooth grayscale. Easy to watch, right?

There are a few waterproof pocket camcorders on the market now, but the Kodak PlaySport is one of the best implementations around. Lightweight, slip resistant, and ultra easy to operate in every kind of environment. And, of course, it doesn't hurt that it's also a very good looking piece of equipment.

Check out the best Kodak PlaySport prices and find out how the PlaySport compares with other pocket camcorders at: www.playsportreview.com

BodyMedia GoWear Fit Armband Calorie Counter

When trying to lose weight fast (as I am right now) it's extremely important to keep track of calorie intake as well as calories burned. If you diet/cut calories while burning extra calories through intense exercise your body can actually burn a lot of fat really quickly. I came across the new BodyMedia GoWear Fit Armband calorie counter recently and I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one. It measures how many steps you take each day (great for estimating calorie expenditure!) as well as how many overall calories you're burning at any given moment. Here's a nice review of the BodyMedia GoWear Fit:

BodyMedia's GoWear Fit Calorie Management System Review

The GoWear Fit is an electronic gadget which tracks how many steps you take (like an advanced pedometer) and how many calories you burn. You you wear it around your arm (it's comfortable and not noticeable under a shirt) all day (except when in the shower or when swimming, it is not waterproof.)

It can be synced up to your computer (via USB) so that you can see a detailed account of how many calories you are burning (and very interesingly when you are burning the most calories.) You can also keep track of how many calories you are consuming in the "calorie management" software. This is important as you need to be burning more calories than you are consuming in order to lose weight.

The system should be worn when you are sleeping and it will even give you interesting details on your sleeping habits (it will tell you how many hours you are actually sleep vs just laying in bed.)

What's the purpose of this gadget you may be wondering? How does it actually help you burn more calories so that you can lose weight fast? Well it doesn't directly burn any calories and it doesn't help you control your hunger or anything like that.

What it really gives you is information and information is power. You will see what activities help you burn the most calories and that should give you the motivation to do those high calorie burning activities more often.

And that may be the real key to this gadget. It's all about motivation (as well as accountability.) Every day you can shoot for burning more calories than you did the day before! If you start looking at your excercise routine in this way you are very likely to start losing weight quite quickly. The GoWear Fit is the recommended calorie counting device as it's very accurate and also relatively inexpensive (compared to it's competitors, specifically the Bodybugg.) -- http://www.myallnaturalweightloss.com/gowear-fit-calorie-management-system-has-arrived/993/

Flip UltraHD High Definition Mini Video Camera

A few years ago I bought the original Flip Video Camera. I was amazed and still use that old model till today. But now it's time for something better. I really like high definition (HD) video and I want to be able to take ultra clear HD videos when I travel to places like Las Vegas and New York. I saw that there's as new high-def Flip model called the Flip UltraHD and it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. As usual I've spent some time looking for reviews on this new Flip cam so I can find out if it works, as well as how well it works. Below is a nice, concise review of the UltraHD. Please leave your own reviews and comments below. Thanks...

Models and Designs of the Flip UltraHD Video Camera

The third generation Flip has two varieties: 4GB, which gives you 1 hour of recording time and an 8GB version for 2 hours of recording. With the 4GB model, you only have to pay $150, but you are only able to record a single hour of high definition quality video. For only $50 more, you can get another hour with the $200 8GB model.

You can get the 8GB 2 hour model in white and black, and the 4GB 1 hour model has magenta and blue varieties.

Please keep in mind that the holidays will mean some models could sell out. Make sure you get the model that you want before someone else gets to it and the retailers run out of stock, which seems to be happening more and more this year.

Flip UltraHD Video Camera Advantages

The portability of the camera is probably its main feature and its primary selling point. From its initial release, this has been a great reason for its incredible success. This new model is an incredible way for young people to carry around their own professional camera.

It doesn't take an expert cinematographer to make your own great looking videos with the help of the Flip UltraHD. All you have to do is turn it on, press the big record button and point it where you want. Your recordings will be greatly improved with the image stabilization features.

Another huge advantage to the Flip Video Camera is the fact that it has a built-in USB that plugs right into any computer for fast and easy uploading to sites like YouTube.

Flip UltraHD Video Camera Disadvantages

This camera does have its downsides somewhat. The battery won't last forever and even though you have the triple A batteries as backup, you might want to take along a backup rechargeable battery source if you are going to be out for a while. There are also people who lament the long charging time of the Flip UltraHD Video Camera.

Is the Flip UltraHD Video Camera the Product to Get?

While not everyone will want a video camera, the vast majority of teens will love this particular gift. Creativity is something that young people are bursting with and this device helps them exhibit it in so many ways. It helps even more when they can own something that is not only highly useful, but that all their friends are talking about too. Just give them this as a present, and watch them absolutely adore it when they see it. However, keep in mind that you have to shell out quite a bit of money before you can give it to them!

Bowflex Revolution FT Home Gym Review

I've been looking for a new all-in-one home gym to complement the dumbbell and weight bench setup I have right now in my basement. One of the newest and most interesting home gyms on the market is the Bowflex Revolution FT gym. This thing is freaking amazing! I've been able to give it a test run at my friend's house and and I figure I'd write a quick and dirty review. First off, all I can say is that after just 2 weeks of using it I'm hooked! :)

The FT is truly a unique home gym with an incredible level of flexibility and exercise options. Since the bench isn't attached to the machine you have a wide range of angles to choose from on nearly every exercise. The extremely inovative "SpiraFlex" plates provide a really unique form of resistance that's difficult to describe. You really just have to try it to understand but overall the Bowflex Revolution FT provides a great, intense resistance workout that in many ways surpasses free weight exercises.

The only thing I don't like about this home gym is that the tension in the resistance cords lessens kind of quickly. But fortunately Bowflex has provided a special knob that you turn to easily reduce the slack and get the tension back up. You'll need to do this every few workouts but it's not a huge pain in the butt.

In conclusion I think that if you're looking for a good home gym for under $1500 you should definitely buy a Bowflex Revolution FT. It's an all-in-one workout device that provides a huge array of strength training exercises and yet only takes up a small amount of floor space!

Please leave your own reviews and opinions of the Revolution FT below. Thanks!
