I'm in the process of trying to buy a laptop for my 18-year-old cousin who's about to start college the first week of January 2011. There are so many different types of notebook computers out there it's incredible. Fortunately I have a friend who has bought laptops for both high school and college students. She really knows how to find the best deals on the best "student" laptops. While talking recently we realized that there must be thousands of people in the same situation. Not everyone is a computer geek who knows which laptop features are important for a young adult trying to get the best grades possible.
